Keys and High Level Keys?

How do I Use Keys and High Level Keys?

               Overview

Consider all the data entered in your Compass system over time. To access the correct data
most efficiently, Compass uses database tables to categorize the information.

               Using Keys

               Field

                   • A field or a combination of fields uniquely identifies every table in your Compass database. For example,
the combination of SetID and Customer ID uniquely identifies a customer record.

               Customer Information
SetID CustomerID Name Customer Status ----

SHARE 5010 AAA Solutions Active ---

SHARE 5011 Apex Systems Inactive ----
SHARE 5012 Advanced Consulting Active ---

SHARE 5013 Central Association Active ----

SHARE 5014 Consolidated Business Active ----

SHARE 5015 Easy Solutions Active ----
               Keys

                   • The fields that uniquely identify your data are called the keys. To display a page, you enter the key(s) to
search for on the search page so the system can retrieve the correct row of data. For example, if you want
to view information on a customer, you could specify or search for the information by using a SetID and
                       Customer ID.
