Keys and High Level Keys?


               Search Record



                                                                     •   A search record is the list of defined search keys
                                                                         that help you locate data. The search keys are the
                                                                         fields you are prompted for on a search page. For
                                                                         example, you can search for a customer by using
                                                                         one or a combination of the keys displayed here.


















               High-Level Key
                   •   A high-level key is a unique piece of data that is specific to only one record in the database table(s). For
                       example, an Employee ID s unique to just that employee, regardless of other employee details, such as
                       last name, address, and date of hire.

               Multi-part Key
                   •   Sometimes it is not feasible to use one specific key to identify a row of data in the system. For these
                       circumstances, Compass also accommodates a multi-part key. In the table below, there are five separate
                       rows of data for Employee 0000345. The high-level key for this table is the Employee ID.
