Eighth Grade Recognition
Moving On to High School
Eighth Grade Recognition was held in May in the Scianna PAC to honor student accomplishments. Everyone was welcomed by Mr.Todd Goldsmith, and Fr. Brian Barker, O.S.A. opened with prayer. Following scripture readings and petitions, each student received a Certi cate of Achievement.The 2017 William D.Wolthuis Scholarship was awarded to Grant Holley. This scholarship was established in memory of Mr.Wolthuis, a high-ranking military of cial stationed in The Hague.The proceeds are given each year to a Cascia Hall eighth grader who has demonstrated the love of studying geography and culture that Mr.Wolthuis possessed. Following the presentation of awards, a slide show was enjoyed by all. Music was provided by the Middle School Chorus and Bell Choir under the direction of Ms. Cheray Smith. A reception was held before the ceremony for students, families, and faculty.
Congratulations to these 72 eighth-grade students who have completed middle school and look forward to the next step—high school; 93% will matriculate to Cascia Hall Upper School in the fall.
