FROM THE PRIOR PROVINCIAL
Fr. Stephen Isley was ordained to the priesthood
at St. Rita Shrine in Chicago on Father’s Day. He is pictured here with (l to r) Fr. Bernie Scianna, O.S.A., his brother Dr. Aaron Isley, and Mr. Roger Carter.
DEAR FRIENDS OF THE AUGUSTINIANS,
Congratulations to our Cascia Hall graduates and all of the student body on the completion of another wonderful academic year. I hope that you are able to have some well-deserved rest over the summer months. Many exciting changes will be coming to the Augustinian Community at Cascia Hall before the start of the fall semester.
Fr. Don Lewandowski, O.S.A. will be transferring to Cascia as Prior and Treasurer of the Community, exiting his current position as Pastor of St. Jude Parish, New Lenox, IL. He will also serve as mentor for Stephen Isley, O.S.A, who was assigned there after his priestly ordination on June 17 at St. Rita Shrine Chapel in Chicago. The Cascia Hall Monastery served as Fr. Stephen’s rst introduction to the Augustinian Order when he visited while doing his undergraduate studies at the University ofTulsa, and he spent his pastoral years as a teacher there from 2013 to 2015. Many of our seniors will remember him and, I’m sure, look forward to his return. Br. Nick Mullarkey, O.S.A. will also remain as a teacher at Cascia Hall as he prepares for solemn profession.
Unfortunately, this means that Br. Jack Hibbard, O.S.A. will be leaving the Cascia Community to serve as a Prior and Health Care Team member at the Bellesini Friary in Crown Point IN, where many of our retired friars reside. On behalf of all of the Midwest Augustinian Province, I would like to thank Br. Jack for his years of excellent service and leadership at Cascia Hall. You will be missed.
I would further like to express the Province’s gratitude to Fr. Roland Follmann, O.S.A. who has retired this year and will continue to reside at Cascia Hall. Fr. Follmann has served at Cascia since 2004, contributing his services as a valued guidance counselor.
I am honored to be leading the Midwest Province as your community begins a new chapter in its history. Due to our increase inVocations over the past ve years, thanks in part to the devoted service of Fr.Tom McCarthy, O.S.A., the presence of Augustinian friars at Cascia looks secure for decades to come.
God bless you, and I look forward to welcoming you back at the start of the fall semester. In Christ and St.Augustine,
Very Rev. Bernard C. Scianna, O.S.A., Ph.D. Prior Provincial of the Midwest Augustinians Cascia Hall Headmaster, 1997-2010
