FRIEND OF THE COMMUNITY AWARD
ASC is proud to present the 2024 Friend of the Community Award to The Marketing Connection, Inc.
During the 2008 nancial crisis, many law rms eliminated or suspended women-focused events from their budgets. As a legal marketing consultant and President of The Marketing Connection, Tamara understood the importance of promoting women attorneys and providing them with an opportunity to network with each other. To ll this gap, she created “Law In The City” – an event and corporate brand that promotes women attorneys and their relationships with the local corporations that call DFW home. Tonya Johannsen, who is now a shareholder at Canterbury, PC, was the rst speaker at the inaugural “Law In The City” event. She encouraged Tamara to partner with ASC.
In early 2008, Tamara met with ASC’s then Lead Chair, Carol D. Sattereld, and together, they formed a partnership that has not only lasted—but ourished—for sixteen years. Since the inaugural Law In The City in November 2008, The Marketing Connection and Tamara have raised more than $96,000 for ASC’s beneciaries. “Law In The City” continues to provide bi-annual networking events in May and November with DFW-area in-house counsel as their speakers. Tamara’s dedication and commitment to the advancement of women has also led her to create “Money In The City,” which is held each year in September.
