Attorneys Serving the Community
Founded in 1987, Attorneys Serving the Community is a dynamic volunteer organization of more than 385 women lawyers, judges, law students, and legal industry service professionals with J.D.s in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. For over 30 years, ASC has raised money for a local non-prot organization that benets women, children, and/or families.
Charitable Impact
Each year, ASC presents fundraising events that support its selected beneciary including a Fall Bazaar, 5K race, and Silent Auction. ASC’s beneciary receives 100% of all proceeds that ASC raises and enhanced public awareness about its services. Our fundraising events culminate each year in an annual Luncheon, which occurs in June. Prior guest speakers at ASC’s Luncheon include former Secretary of State, Senator and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton; former First Lady Laura Bush and Today Show correspondent Jenna Bush Hager; Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award winner Viola Davis; Grammy Award winner, actor, and singer Christopher Jackson (Hamilton); and Beth Macy, New York Times bestselling author and producer of the Hulu hit series Dopesick.
ASC is proud to have raised more than $5 million for Dallas-Fort Worth non- prots since 2015. ASC’s success is a tribute to the commitment of our membership and the community of lawyers, law rms, businesses, and individuals that support ASC and its beneciaries.
Networking Opportunities
In addition to its philanthropic endeavors, part of ASC’s mission is to create and facilitate networking and business development opportunities for its members. Our membership is comprised of female lawyers in law rms and corporate legal departments of all sizes, law professors and law students, members of the judiciary, and lawyers who hold non-legal corporate and consulting positions. Whether you are in a corporate legal department, a large law rm, or your own rm, it’s not always what you know that will determine your professional trajectory— sometimes it’s who you know.
