The Resurrection
Resurrection means the rising of Christ from the
dead. Growing up in the church, we hear about the
death and resurrection of Jesus. The resurrection is John T. Mathew
everything to our faith i.e. the necessary sacrifice for Roll No. 1960
our sins, but the resurrection was the Victory.
Anastasis is the Greek word for resurrection. Another study shares,
“Christ’s physical resurrection is the foundation of Christianity, which also
guarantees the future resurrection of all believers”.
Jesus has raised three people during his ministry on earth, i.e. the widow’s
son at Nain (Luke 7: 11-17), the daughter of Jairus (Matthew 9: 18-26)
and Lazarus (John 11: 1-44). What Jesus offered through His death and
resurrection was eternal relationship and security through Him.
What is Easter?
Easter is one of the principal holidays, or feasts of each Christianity. It
marks the Resurrection of Jesus three days after his death by crucifixion
over the cross.
Psalms 118:24 reads as “This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice
and be glad in it.” which have long been used to herald Easter. However, we
must learn to look “Beyond the Veil” as what it costs to be Real Christians
in this World of War & Hatred.
Do you want to know, how many Christians are persecuted each year?
Around 365 million Christians are subject to “high levels of persecution
and discrimination”. This compared to 340 million in 2021 (PDF), as per
2023 report.
In 2023, a deadly ethnic conflict broke out in Manipur between the Hindu
majority Meiteis and the Christian minority Kuki-zo. Over 200 people
were killed and more than 70,000 were displaced—mostly believers. An
estimated 400 churches were destroyed, while approximately 7,000 houses
and over 100 villages were razed (Source: https://globalchristianrelief.org).
The United Christian Forum (UCF) – a civil society organization focused
on Christian issues, based in Delhi – released a stunning statistic (during
September-2023): there have been 525 attacks against Christians in India
just in the first eight months of 2023, which means 2023 would likely
exceed the record violence set in years 2022 and, 2021.
According to the 2011 Census, Christians make up about 2.3% of India’s
population. In the most recent data for 2023 released by UCF, Uttar
Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Haryana have reported the highest number of
incidents against Christians.
