THE AMIR TROPHY
Awarded to the Best Of Breed Sloughi at the NOTRA National each year.
A puppy of the first Shi'Rayân litter born in 1993, Amir Shi'Rayân, GRC, FCC became the
first Sloughi SORC.
He was tied with his brother Aswad, as first NOTRA National Champion for the breed in
1995.
Amir dominated the oval racing Sloughis by remaining the highest pointed Sloughi in
NOTRA from 1995 to 2001.
He also won the first ever LGRA race meet, and his talent in coursing contributed to the
Sloughi’s recognition by ASFA (American Sighthound Field Association).
In spite of his insatiable love of adventure, Amir lived a long life and was loved and bred
by Dr. Marie-Dominique Crapon de Caprona and Dr. Bernd Fritzsch.
The trophy was donated by the Sloughi Fanciers Association of America in 2004. The
artwork is by Dr. Marie-Dominique Crapon de Caprona.
