he righteous are in the hands of the Lord and no torment shall
befall them. It is with a heavy heart that we write this tribute in
Tmemory of Sis Jane Vanderpuije. Our hearts still ache in sadness
and secret tears still ow.
Sis Jane is one of the oldest members who started the St Alban
Anglican Church at the Twedease School, together with the late IT
Okine and a host of others in the year 1967, and also formed the Guild
of the Good shepherd at that time.
She was a staunch member and has contributed her quota in diverse
ways. She faithfully and dutifully served the Church spiritually and
physically. Sis Jane was a very jovial person, she was nick-named
(Ashorrr bi3 ashweoo y3) which literally means this is where we play not
at the cemetery. Because of her love for the Guild and her
commitment, she was honored as Past Master Shepherd of the guild
by merit together with Onupka Margaret Mensah, Onukpa Rebecca
Glover Adjei and Onukpa Regina Dadzie.
Many will remember her for her dancing skills during praise and
offering times. She saw praise time as a time to dance and rejoice
before her Maker and always danced to the very last song. We recall
on this year's Shepherds day Picnic, held at St Peters Anglican Church
at Nungua on 7th May 2022, Master Shepherd picked her and Onukpa
Laving Shepherd of thy Sheep Phoebe Essirfe to the picnic grounds. They danced their hearts out to
the glory of the Lord. Little did we know that she was bidding us fare
keep thy Lamb in safety keep
well.
Nothing can thy power withstand
In fact, death is indeed inevitable but we take consolation in the fact
None can pluck me from thy hand A&M 334 (Stanza 1) that she has gone to be with her Maker.
Fare thee well Sis Jane till we meet again on the resurrection Morning.
We love you dearly but God loves you best
