TRIBUTE TO MY FATHER-IN-LAW

                                              FROM MIKE BOATENG

ondolences to the entire Sapong Antwi family, to my brother and best friend Ben, to my wife Ruth and to Michelle and Jason my
children. I will start by expressing my sincerest gratitude to Mr William Sapong Antwi (Daddy Willie) for being a father to me, for
Callowing me to have the hand of his daughter in marriage and for being a loving grandfather (Opa) to my children.

Daddy Willie accepted me into his family when I was 10 years old. His son Ben and I were childhood friends and I was a frequent guest at
their family home where I was treated like a son by Daddy and Mama Bea. I have had the privilege of watching my hard working father-in-
law excel in everything that he has put his hands to - be it Banking, Finance, Agriculture and in conducting the affairs of his family. Intelligent
with a good knowledge of every topic you care to discuss, a great sense of humour, loving and affable man who was such an inspiration
and good inuence on his grandkids.

The qualities I have learnt from my father-in-law are hard work, determination and focus. He always told me that “With determination,
nothing can dismantle the ag of success” He practiced what he preached, kept working in his garden and tilling the soil even when he
was weak and frail. He was an animal lover and kept goats, sheep, rabbit and poultry in his back yard. Not even the thieves who came to
pilfer his stock would stop him from rearing animals. A fountain of knowledge, witty and an avid reader, he could give an in-depth account
of every topic under discussion, we have indeed lost a pillar in the family.
Daddy you are gone but we will keep you in our hearts forever, thank you for the contributions you have made in our lives, thank you for
giving me the most beautiful and caring woman I am honoured to call my wife and for being a loving Opa to my children.

In all things we give thanks. As Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ Father –in-law in Numbers 10 verse 29, “we are
setting out to the place of which the Lord said I will give it to you, Come with us it will do you good for the Lord has promised good
         concerning Israel” .
The Lord has promised good concerning the Sapong Antwi family so Daddy May the good Lord grant you a permanent resting place in his
         bosom. Amen.
