Set on 50 acres of green fields, gardens, rolling hills, and wooded areas, the picturesque location includes walking trails, therapy pools, and a grooming spa. Here, the abused and neglected animals heal and rehabilitate while they wait to be
adopted. Along with medical care, Dog Tales provides love, attention and training that the animals they rescue need to recover.
Most of the animals are adopted into permanent loving homes. Dog Tales is their home as long as they need it. Rob and Danielle believe a fun environment filled with happy dogs makes it easier for guests to repeatedly visit until they find that perfect dog.
Dog Tales regularly takes in owner surrenders and about half of the dogs in their shelter are local dogs. e other half come are from rescue initiatives within Canada and internationally. ey search for dogs that need them
the most regardless of geographic location.
If you’re interested in adopting a dog
Stop by the open house on SUNDAYS when you can see the dogs available for adoption. en set up a private appointment via the application process to interact with the dogs.
Visiting
Dog Tales is OPEN to the public every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. is adorable farm located near Toronto is filled with hundreds of dogs, horses and animals and is totally free to visit! Visitors can explore the grounds, see the animals, and talk with the staff. It is closed Monday to Saturday. Outside dogs are not permitted at the shelter. You are asked to leave your own dog at home.
Donations
Dog Tales is privately funded and relies on donations. ere are also opportunities to volunteer and be part of their mission to rescue animals. While it accept donations for the rescue, rehabilitation and medical needs of their many animals, it is not a registered charity as they are also involved in lobbying the government to change legislation that they believe hurts or endangers animals across our entire country.
