MAY, 2019 VOL. 1 ISSUE 10
Shanghai, China. Before I moved to Dallas, I have been living in Los Angeles and New York. I finished my teaching at the University of North Texas in August 2019 and accepted the opportunity to teach finance at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. This year is my 3rd year of teaching finance. I have taught a variety of finance courses before I joined SOSU. I hope students can enjoy my classes and have successful careers. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the Nanjing University of Finance and Economics. After two years of study at Binghamton University for the Master of Science in Accounting, I joined the University of North Texas for a Ph.D. in Finance. I am expected to defend my dissertation and earn a Ph.D. in Finance from UNT in May 2020.
To me, Teaching finance is a great way to help students improve themselves and have better lives. Every student will benefit from learning finance no matter what his or her major is. By attending my courses, they can better understand interest rates, auto loans, mortgages, banking, pensions, investments, etc. Considering so many people struggle financially at some point in their lives, I am deeply pleased and honored to help them improve the quality of their lives and prepare for the future. My goals are to go above and beyond teaching knowledge and skills. I always encourage students to stay intellectually thirsty and think critically. I find fulfillment to be able to transform them into lifetime learners and thinkers. My office is at R113. You can contact me by sending an email to ‘hxu@se.edu’.
