Methods here at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He previously served as Visiting Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Logistics at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL. He began his career in academia as Assistant Professor of Marketing at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA. He moved to Melissa, TX this fall with his wife, Wendy, who is currently pursuing her doctorate at the University of South Alabama. They have two sons: Jamie, who is five years old, and a one-year old son, Sammy. In their spare time (when there is any), we like to go camping and visit Disney World!
Prior to academia, Dr. Risher began his career in logistics as a package handler and package delivery driver with United Parcel Service while attending Mississippi State University. Upon receipt of his bachelor’s degree, he accepted the position of Freight Operations Supervisor with Con-Way Freight (then Con-Way Southern), where he was eventually promoted to a general office position as linehaul coordinator in Fort Worth, TX. From there, he accepted a similar role as logistics planner with Matheson Tri-Gas in Irving, TX. Due to a wish to continue my education, he moved closer to my home state of Mississippi and accepted a job as logistics planner with Transport Service Company in Geismar, LA. Dr. Risher has also held general management positions, including his tenure as terminal manager for Central Transport in Baton Rouge, LA. Upon completing his MBA at SLU, he received my doctorate in marketing from Kennesaw State University.
