Why is it important to teach your dog

                new things?

                Mental and physical stimulation is
vital for not just us but also our dogs
                wellbeing. Teaching new things using
positive reinforcement will give both you

and your dog enjoyment and wellbeing.

When teaching your dog a new trick,

what type of body language should you
                adopt?

Try to adopt a relaxed, neutral position,
the dog will be looking to you for any
clues and the more you move the more

the dog will go off your movement
rather than the intended cue. Rob Ellis with Kiri

Is there any body language you should avoid when training a dog?

Avoid any confrontational body language or physical manipulation, this
could be as little as someone pushing the rear end of a dog to get them
to sit, not giving the dog space and a choice in their behaviour. At Guide
Dogs we practice the least intrusive, minimally aversive techniques so

avoid anything that could cause the dog harm or distress.

And lastly, why would you recommend a Good Dog! subscription?

It’s a pleasure to work for a charity with such a great cause. By
