NOTE Welcome to the October Issue of K9 News.

As we go to print to the news that SKC has had to
cancelled its planned November show has come as a
blow many. The hope of attending another show in 2020
came so close but with Covid case numbers on the rise
again the inevitable news hit.

When the whole country went into complete lockdown in
March we rallied together and accepted that there would
be no shows for some time. We cared for and were kind
to each other. However, as restrictions eased, Blackpool
and Bournemouth, with their own grounds, felt a show
could be organised. Following government guidelines
and with local authority authorisation their secretaries
and committees had a lot of work to ahead of them to
make it all possible. They were hoping for support, which
they got but they did not expect to have to deal with the
barrage of abuse that came their way. The dog world in
now very divided on opinion but some of the post I have
read on Facebook were very disrespectful and upsetting
for those at the end of it. We are all entitled to opinion
but should also respect those that don’t have the same
ideas or beliefs as ourselves.

We do not know everyone’s personal circumstances
to have a right to name call and bully them because
they are in favour or against the idea of trying to have a
show or to enter to go to a show. If you feel the safety
measures these societies have put in place, are not
good enough for you then it is your choice not to enter
but because you choose not to go you should not berate
others who have entered and had planned to attend.
