Best Self Fours are highly intuitive, in touch with feelings, intensely deep individuals. They are unbelievably in sync with others, have a terrific ability to listen to what is being said, and generally have a

developed sense of knowing. They use their gut to evaluate and sense what is going on around them. They are able to navigate relationships and understand what people need at a deep level. When in Shadow, a Four’s behavior can become exaggerated and they can become so attached to feelings that they lose their ability to be objective. Feelings can become facts and that can be dangerous. They can become high strung and difficult to deal with in Shadow. Moody and temperamental are some of the words that come to mind. Most of the time it is short lived but anyone who has worked or lived with a Four knows what I am talking about. Feelings take over and sometimes Fours simply cannot see around their feelings. You will notice them being sharply opinionated, overly critical, and it can be hard for them to think rationally.
Fours have exceptionally high standards and want things to be done well. They expect a lot of themselves and of others. They may become intolerant and impatient if standards are lowered too far from their expectations.Althoughtheycanbecriticalofothers,Foursarevery sensitive themselves. This is in keeping with their deep heart and strong feelings. They are extremely aware of being judged and are highly self conscious. Their self awareness can be a double-edged sword. In Best Self it makes them self reflective—wanting to understand themselves and better themselves, making them conscious of their impact on others. But if they become overly self conscious, it can block them. They can get stuck.
Best Self Fours are passionate. They throw themselves into what they believe in with abandon. They are loyal with an unbelievable sense of responsibility. If Fours move into Shadow, they sometimes can be emotionally too strong for people to handle—intense. Emotional swings can be unpredictable and can be set off by events or situations
