that the other person is not aware of but feels they get the backlash nonetheless. Fours in Shadow can make people feel like they have to walk on eggshells. In Shadow, Fours become so attached to their own way of doing things, it can be difficult to see things from other points of view. In extreme Shadow, they can move into a fantasy state rather than reality and can come across as a bit withdrawn, not grounded in reality.
Best Self Fours can be extraordinarily creative and imaginative. They think with a fresh spin on things. However, creativity does not necessarily mean artistic. Although there are many Fours in creative professions, there are also many who are not "artistic" in the traditional sense. What these Fours have in common is that they are solutions driven. They are able to find creative ways to solve problems or reach and connect with people.
Fours have a romantic side. They are also very tasteful, aesthetic in home, dress, and possessions. They keep heartfelt things close to them

such as sentimental mementos and family pictures. In Shadow, their penchant for good taste can lead them to be highly judgmental about what they view as tacky or tasteless. Some Fours in Shadow can be rather snobbish.
In Best Self, Fours have a high value for authenticity. They need honesty, they seek to connect with genuine people, and they gravitate toward people who are willing to work through issues. Sincerity is a must. Betrayal and insincerity can cause a Four to either lash out or withdraw or both. From their vantage point, this kind of behavior is inexcusable.
