Wake-up Call Problem to Solve

They could straighten the crumpled paper, I was a boy
They could bring the long-lost change, And my homework was missing,
They could do many things, Paper with numbers on it,
If we had known how to save their lives. Stacked and lined,
I was looking for my piece of paper,
Skinny bones, dry throats, Proud of this plus that, then multiplied,
In a place so remote, Not remembering if I had left it
We have what they look for, On the table after showing to my uncle
Yet we cause the storm, Or the shelf after combing my hair
        But it was still somewhere
But how would they uncrumple the pages, And I was going to find it and turn it in,
Of a book that’s already torn, Make my teacher happy,
How would they bring change? Make her say my name to the whole class,
Without the privileged to do so. Before everything got subtracted
        In a minute
This is our wake-up call, Even my uncle
Let’s not lose the potential we need, Even my teacher
Or let the efforts blow, Even the best math student and his baby sister
Let’s learn how to save their lives. Who couldn’t talk yet.
And now I would do anything
Suravi Acharya For a problem I could solve.
