LETTER FROM THE BOOSTER CLUB PRESIDENT
Dear CLS Hawks Fans,
What a great fall season we had! After being away from supporting, cheering, and rooting for our Hawks in person last year, par- ents and students alike filled the stands to support our athletes both at home and for the away competition. We even managed to have more Hawks fans at an away soccer game against Country Day School than they did! Our Dance & Cheer teams engaged the spectators and our BC Spirit Chair working with CLS Spirit Club created new found school spirit around campus.
The Booster Club Board members are an incredibly dedicated, energetic, and talented group of parents who are committed to ad- vancing Latin athletics in a way that supports Latin’s mission and purpose. New this year, is the alignment of Booster Club into the CLS umbrella. As such, we no longer have membership drives or have sponsors for our magazine. The magazine’s goal remains unchanged; showcase all of our sports teams while highlighting the senior athletes.
I would be remiss if I did not mention and thank the numerous Booster Club members who work tirelessly behind the scenes on behalf of Charlotte Latin athletics. Have you ever wondered who runs concessions, who provides & hangs up the senior pennants and who makes those buttons we love to wear to the games? Who provides the spirit merchandise? Who delivers the “home of a state championship” signs? Who collects for gates & tickets? All of this and so much more is provided by the Booster Club Board.
On behalf of our entire board, thank you to all the parents who have generously given of your time this fall working concessions, collecting money at gates and tickets, face painting, and taking pictures. Finally, thank you to our incredible coaches, trainers, administrators, and members of the athletic department for supporting our efforts and most importantly, for all you do for our student-athletes every day.
Congratulations to our 3-peat state champions, the Girls Tennis team! Looking forward to a great winter season and hope to see you at the pool, court, or mat soon.
