Congratulations Seniors!
KIERAN AMIN-CAPTAIN
As a senior athlete, Kieran leads by example and his influence on the team
is felt by all. Kieran is a very intelligent, dedicated, and outgoing young man with excellent leadership skills. We appreci- ate the way that he combines his affable, approachable nature with his passion for competing as part of a team. He uses
his skills to unite teammates, regardless of age or skill level. Never one to shirk responsibilities or to offer less than his best effort, Kieran inspires commitment from his teammates. In high jump and pole vault, Kieran provides the technical execution that coaches use as a bench- mark for other athletes. A consummate competitor, Kieran knows how to enjoy himself while striving to achieve new heights.
JAVARIS BUFFORD
It was welcomed news when the coaches learned that Javaris was com- ing back to the track team after trying baseball in 2020. This year, Javaris focused his training on the long jump and triple jump. He dedicated himself to the jumping event every practice, including many weekends. If we had an award to give for a comeback athlete, he could be a great candidate for this year. Javaris is one of the top triple
and long jumpers in our team and our conference.. Javaris leads by example through his work ethic. He shows up to practice ready to work and executes our warmups and drills to perfection. Javaris is also very coachable and always asks for coaches’ feedback. After every jump, Javaris says “I will get this right coach” or “I can do better next time, coach.” This level of drive is what makes him a fierce competitor.
ELENA EGGE-CAPTAIN
Wishing that Track and Field includ- ed less running, Elena has dedicat-
ed herself to verticality through her tireless efforts in high jump and pole vault. She has brought her athleticism and her years of gymnastics training to bear as she folds and contorts herself to squeeze every last inch out of her jumps and vaults. As the defending conference champion in pole vault, Elena has faced the competition and risen to the challenge. Throughout
her years on the team, Elena has welcomed and encouraged younger athletes to her events. Her leadership has contributed to the growth in Track & Field involvement and has enhanced our team overall.
