      SARAH HARGRAVE-CAPTAIN
Sarah has been a member of the track & field family for the past three years. Every year she came to the track fo- cused and ready to execute, resulting in her becoming one of the most tech- nically sound athletes to join the pro- gram. Her humble disposition matched with her grit, discipline, and determi- nation made her a coach’s dream. Her quiet leadership style proved to be just the touch we needed. It has been an absolute pleasure coaching Sarah and we wish her every success in her future endeavors as she heads to Appalachian State this fall.
CHARLES HARRIS-CAPTAIN
When people think of the sport
of distance running at Latin, they automatically conjure up the image of Charles churning out the training miles, leading his teammates, and racking up impressive race results in cross-country and track. What is most impressive about Charles is how he has embraced his leadership role, mentoring his younger teammates in the fine art and self-discipline of the running lifestyle. Charles has had a superb career as a Latin runner, and we wish him the best at UNC Chapel Hill next year.
COLE LAVELLE-CAPTAIN
Cole has been a member of the track & field family for the past four years and has been a valuable addition to the boy’s middle distance and sprint program. Every year, Cole shows up
to the season with a drive to be his best self. His ability to learn, retain, and execute with precision set him apart from others. Cole is a versatile ath- lete, who is willing to do anything the team requires from him. As a coach, you could not ask for a better leader who is always willing to put the team before himself. He is often the first to step up when we need a replacement in a relay team or volunteer to help
the coaches with day-to-day tasks.
He has an amazing ability to relate to everyone on our team and is the glue that binds together our team’s different training groups. We know he’ll contin- ue to soar as he heads to Vanderbilt University.
  FLY
  BRIAN SOBEL
Eager and open to trying anything
new, Brian has focused on pole vault and has even dabbled with high jump. Always ready to laugh and encourage others, Brian approaches his event work seriously and strives for mastery. A thinker who processes and evaluates everything that he does, he embraces both the physical and the mental as- pects of his events. The coaches have enjoyed seeing a huge growth in Brian’s confidence, leadership ability, and performance in pole vault and thank him for his work and wish him well at Washington University at St Louis.
