VARSITY TRACK & FIELD
The challenging year did not deter the Hawks from coming together as a team and accomplishing individual and team goals. Both the boys & girls placed 5th place in the CISAA rankings and 6th for boys and 8th for the girls in the NCISAA State Championship. Those placements do not reflect our successes. Almost everyone recorded a season or lifetime best performance in each event. Latin athletes moved up in the all-time CLS performance list this year. We saw kids move up in the top 10 list in 24 different events just this season. Most of these athletes are young and still have many opportunities to improve. We only graduated three seniors from over 30 state qualifiers.
MIDDLE SCHOOL TRACK & FIELD
The team worked hard, they were willing to learn new things and they pushed themselves to get better. The 4x100 relay team improved by over 4 seconds from the beginning of the season to the end, setting a new middle school record in that event. The distance girls were dominant the whole season. Together they ran stride for stride, supporting and pushing one another. This team received praise from opposing teams about how polite and respectful our team was.
