ELIZABETH HUNTER - CAPTAIN
Elizabeth is a four-year varsity player and co-captain of this year’s team. She has been a part of the field hockey program since 8th grade. She was on the second team All-Conference and also All-Observer team last season. She is well-skilled, quick and aggres- sive, making her the driving force on offense. We missed her intensity this season when she was sidelined with an injury. Elizabeth’s leadership showed
in her support of teammates and coaches during practices and games. Elizabeth’s favorite field hockey mem- ory was “winning the state champion- ship my sophomore year in overtime against Country Day.”
ARDEN WARREN
Arden is a first-year varsity player and was a captain of the JV team last year. Arden is an aggressive defender that
is not afraid to get in the mix. She has
a keen sense of the field and is able to push the ball out of our defensive end. She is our go-to one-on-one player. Her teammates love having her around and her sense of humor keeps every- one upbeat. Arden’s favorite field hock- ey memory was “when coach Vance let me play attack for a JV game and I had never played attack before. I scored.”
KATIE SANGER
Katie is primarily a soccer player who joined the varsity team two years ago. She was new to field hockey but played the game like a seasoned veteran. She
is our motor in the middle of the field and controls the best players we com- pete against. She is fast and is always in the right place at the right time. Katie is
a great role model for her teammates. Katie will continue her soccer career next year at Wofford College. Katie’s favorite field hockey memory was “against CCDS when we played them at home. It was the first time our whole team was bond- ed together and we all were supporting one another and had a real sense of unity.”
ELLA TUNE
Ella is a first-year varsity player and was a captain of the JV team last year. Her hard work, leadership and dedica- tion has made her a valuable addition to our team. She leads by example every day and is well respected by her teammates. She comes to practice ready to play and to contribute any way she can. She is always pushing herself and is willing to play different positions. Ella’s favorite field hockey memory “happened freshman year during JV tryouts. Sallie Hughes sac- rificed herself by diving face first into
a mud puddle so that the team didn’t have to run through it. We all acted like she fell and we had to help her.”
