MARSHALL HANSON - CAPTAIN
A member of the wrestling team since 6th grade, and a varsity starter all four years of high school, Marshall has been a leader and finished in the top four for the past two state championships. As
a senior captain, Marshall’s leadership was called upon when the school went remote due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Marshall kept the team organized and focused while dealing with the many distractions that this year has present- ed. On the mat, Marshall was able to finish strong, making the finals of the state tournament, finishing as a runner-up.
SAM HOUSE - CAPTAIN
After breaking into the starting lineup and finishing second in the state tour- nament in 2019, much was expected from Sam during his junior campaign. Sam more than delivered by capping an amazing season with an individ- ual state title last year. Sam leads
the team as a captain and was able to improve on his individual success by finishing second. Wrestling is not Sam’s only extracurricular passion, he is also a starting pitcher for the Hawks’ baseball team. Sam will be taking his strong arm to Queens Uni- versity where he will be pitching for the Royals.
BRUNO LAHASS
As a six-year member of the Mat Hawk program, Bruno has been a big pres- ence in the wrestling room – literally and figuratively – for some time. Bruno stepped up last year, earning a starting position, adding size and strength
to the program’s upper weights. He finished first in the conference and second in the state in the 220-pound weight class. This year, the program once again looked towards Bruno to anchor the lineup with his quiet con- fidence. And once again Bruno came through for the team finishing in 3rd place in the heavyweight category.
