BASEBALL RECAP
VARSITY BASEBALL
Spring of 2021 was the first full season under a new coaching regime and was a great stepping stone for Charlotte Latin Baseball. The Hawks achieved the pro- gram’s first playoff victory since 2011 and 13 of 16 players will return next season. Once fully healthy, the team had a great stretch winning 5 in a row at one point including series sweeps of Covenant Day and Cannon School late in the year. Three outstanding seniors, along with all the players, have really bought into a new coaching staff these last two years and have laid an outstanding founda- tion for the future of Charlotte Latin Baseball.
JUNIOR VARSITY BASEBALL
The goal of the JV baseball team is to provide opportunities for all the freshman and sophomores in the program to gain valuable game experience. The team tried to play one game a week during the season and finished with a record of 1-4. The Hawks improved dramatically during these games and were extremely competitive, especially in the conference matchups. The team always displayed a great attitude and enjoyed their opportunities to play.
MIDDLE SCHOOL BASEBALL
The Middle School Baseball Program and its players grew tremendously during the 2021 season. The team was led by its eighth graders and the leadership that these student-athletes provided in all situations was tremendous. Seventh graders also made significant contributions during the season; Catchers were immense behind the plate and contributed with the bat. Outfielders developed during the season and made excellent plays.
