A inducted into the family-run Golden Chemicals immediately after he graduated with a degree
in commerce. Simultaneously, he became actively involved with NMET and other charities in India’s
commercial capital. Over the years, he has served as president of Dr. Balabhai Nanavati Hospital,
Vile Parle and executive committee member of the Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal. In 1998, he was
appointed managing trustee of NMET to upgrade the trust’s flagship Jamnabai Narsee School (JNS)
and take the trust’s education dissemination mission forward.

NMET’s transformation drive began in 2005 with the contemporisation of JNS after Sujay Jairaj, a
graduate of University of Strathclyde (UK) returned to India and was appointed a trustee of NMET in
2005. Since then JNS has experienced a major makeover with the introduction of IT-enabled peda-
gogies and proven best administrative practices in education management. Subsequently, in 2015
NMET promoted the Jamnabai Narsee International School, Mumbai and Jamnabai Narsee School,
GIFT City, Gandhinagar (Gujarat).

istering education institutions of excellence. I am committed to carrying forward this rich legacy.
Even as JNS is continuously evolving and changing with the times, our new schools are winning
laurels for providing futuristic K-12 education rooted in Indian values to prepare children for suc-
cess in the digital age,” says Sujay Jairaj, vice-president of Golden Chemicals Pvt. Ltd, who has re-
cently completed the Architectural Imagination course of Harvard University.

A sports enthusiast and founder of the world’s largest cycling community, Mumbai Cycling Enthusi-
asts (18,000 members), Sujay was conferred the Young Achievers Award 2017 of the Rotary Club of
Bombay for “promoting excellence in education” and the Times Education Icon Award for the past
three years in succession.
