3Dear Apostles of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Through the years, we have prayed with you and we thank God for all the wonderfulsupport, zeal, sacrifice and love you have invested in reaching out to the world with your gifts of prayer, Sacramentals, apostolic actionand donation of self for the salvation of souls. Very often, when we think of a solution to the devastating problems in the world and the Church, we tend to think of it as something outthere which is relatively distant from us and dependent on other persons. We look to the HolyFather and the President to resolve the issues which bear greatly upon our lives, ourfuture and our eternity. No atom bomb has been dropped on our country, there has not been a single gunfired and, yet, the catastrophic destruction of the family is nearly complete. Our Lady came to Fatima to ask the children to save souls from Hell by establishingin the world devotion to her Immaculate Heart. What a wonderful vocation is ours: To save souls from Hell by being consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary!Pope Pius XII, the Pope of Fatima, urged Bishops to consecrate their dioceses to Her, Pastors their parishes, Parents their families, and every individualperson to consecrate himself to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In 1942, the Pope, as Vicar of Holy Mother the Church, formally made the Consecration of the whole world to Mary%u2019s Immaculate Heart. Pope Pius XII explained: %u201cThis consecration to the Mother of God is a total gift of self for all eternity and a gift which is not a mere formality, or sentimentality, but effectual and comprising the full intensityof the CHRISTIAN-MARIAN life. It is a fearfulresponsibility!%u201dConsecration to Mary%u2019s Immaculate Heart means verysimply, that we give ourselves totally and completely to the Mother of God. We give not only ourselves but all that we are, all we hope to be and all that we have, that She may do with us as She pleases. Mary does not keep us but places us with love in the Sacred Heart of Jesus. When the Consecration is over and allis given, the surrender is total and complete. Docile, humble and obedient, the consecrated soul lives always as a little child thatis now in the presence of its Mother. Every action is done through Her, with Her, in Her and for Her. The Queen of the Universe really and truly reigns in our consecratedsouls. Her command is fulfilled.
