it burn quickly. Nowadays, they insert the bulb with a inert gas (gas that is non- reactive when used during a chemical reaction) which prevents combustion and helps the filament last longer.
However, even though we have used Edison´s light (incandescent) for over a century, there are new light sources like LED and fluorescent light.
Science Experiment
ACTIVITY. Seeing the Light
Next, you will do an experiment to see how a light bulb receives electricity.
Simple circuit with light
1. Cut the wire into two pieces and strip the covering away from each end. (Be sure not to cut the wire)
2. Place one wire on the top of the battery (positive terminal) and on the top of the bulb.
3. Place the other wire on the bottom of the battery (negative terminal) and on the bottom of the bulb.
              Material you will need:
• 2 batteries
• 1 1.5-volt light bulb • 2 copper wires
• Wire cutter
            4. The bulb should light up when all the wires are connected.
