Gorges (the third deepest canyon in the world, surpassed only by the Copper Canyon in Mexico and the Grand Canyon in the US).
Besides having some of the deepest chasms, it also has some incredibly high mountains, such as the famed Mount olympus, which you have heard probably about previously, since it’s a central point in Greek Mythology, being known as the home of the gods. Mount olympus is a real mountain, and the highest point in Greece, along with being the fourth highest in europe. it’s almost 3,000 meters above sea level! another mountain
range, the rhodope Mountains, are the border
in between northern Greece and Bulgaria,
and they are covered in huge forests. Western
Greece also has many lakes and swamps.
as you can tell because of vast difference in ecosystems, Greece has a big variety in weather. its climate can be divided into three basic types:
• Alpine Climate, which is found mostly in Western Greece, which is very, very cold, and generally happens near mountain-tops.
• Mediterranean Climate, which has dry,
hot summers, and cool, rainy, wet winters. it snows sometimes, but temperatures are rarely very high or low.

 • Temperate Climate is found mostly in Central and Eastern Macedonia, with hot, warm summers and cold, damp winters.
half of athens is in the temperate climate (the northern half), while the other half is in the Mediterranean zone (the southern half).
and all of this joins together to create one of the most beautiful countries on earth.
