Simple Tenses
Present Tense
The present tense of a verb talks about an action that is happening right now or one that happens over and over.
Present Tense for Regular Verbs

Most verbs
Verbs ending in s, ss, sh, ch, x, z Verbs ending in consonant + y
Add -s
Add -es
Change y to i and add -es
Examples: Ali runs every day to be strong for his journey. Hassan buys merchandise in Suez.
Ali’s mother cries when she sees her son leave. Present Tense for Be and Have
Examples: I am a merchant. Ali has a camel.
The camel drivers are thirsty. They have a lot more to walk.
