• Start writing a title. It could be in form of a question.
Example: To Recycle or Not to Recycle?
• Start writing your topic sentence. It has to be one of your stron- gest point.
• Continue with your detail sentences. Stating important facts that support your opinion.
• Use clear and interesting details.
• Quote sources, this will give you credibility.
• The writer should provide suggestions on how to solve the prob-
lem.
• End with a strong appealing statement.
EDITING
• Reread your essay • Ask yourself:
a) Am I convinced? b) Did I convince the reader? • Always check for subject–verb agreement.
• Remember to check that verb tenses are consistent. • Can the reader relate to the problem?
• Does the reader understand your solution?
PROOFREADING
• Check for errors.
• Revise your spelling. • Check punctuation.
PUBLISHING
• Rewrite your essay.
• Try to convince your class.
