Grammar. Adjectives
• Adjectives are words that describe or modify the noun or pronoun.
• Adjectives answer questions about the noun or pronoun like: what kind, how many, which one.
• The articles a, an, and the are adjectives.
Read the sentences carefully. Circle the adjectives and underline the articles. (Remember you can find more than one adjective in a sentence)
1. Ivan Dmitritch was a middle-class man.
2. Ivan Dmitritch had a panic-stricken face.
3. Ivan Dmitritch gave a broad, senseless smile.
4. A bright object was shown.
5. It was as pleasant to her as to him.
6. We have plenty of time.
7. The pictures he imagined were each more gracious and poetical than the last.
