Writing Workshop. Creative Writing
Creative Writing is a form of artistic expression. Usually an untraditional free way of writing, it means anybody can do it as long as they use their imagination and “creativity”. It has to be original and entertaining to the reader. Poetry, novels and short stories are great examples.
Extending the Story
Write at least three paragraphs telling what might happen after Mme. Forestier reveals that the necklace was a fake.
PREWRITING:
Think of the answers of the following questions:
• Does she return the difference in value between the original necklace and the one she received as a replacement?
• Do the Loisels now begin to lead a different kind of life?
• Is it too late for Mathilde to recapture the past—her beauty
and social triumph?
• Has she learned something during those ten years?
Start writing what comes to your mind (words, sentences, feelings). Turn the words you just wrote into detail sentences.
Try to be creative.
wriTing
Start writing your first draft by choosing the detail sentences you like best to continue with the story.
Stay true to the style of the story.
