The silly frog was sitting on the beautiful water lily, it almost seem like it was enjoying its fresh and lightly sweet smell.
The frog was sitting on the water lily.
Which of the two sentences helps you imagine the scene better? Why?
The first sentence helps you imagine what the writer is describing much better; the reason
for this is the usage of adjectives and descriptive details. Next, you will learn how to write a description.
a description will tell how a person, place, topic, or event is, it forms a picture of what the author is describing. The objective is to make the reader feel like they can see, hear, smell, or touch what you are describing.
a good description will have:
Sensory details, these are details that make your senses feel alive. Use adjectives that best describe your subject.
Use words to describe colors, size, weight, etc.
             Sensory words will help you improve your writing.
