7. What are the metaphors used to describe Romeo and Juliet while they hold hands at the party?
Romeo takes her hand and compares it to shrine that he must kiss as if he were
a pilgrim making atonement. Juliet is the saint whose hand he is kissing.
8. When does Romeo find out that the lady he just fell madly in love with is the daughter of his foe?
When Juliet is called away by her mother he asks who her mother is and thus he
finds out Juliet is a Capulet.
9. How does Romeo wind up under Juliet’s balcony?
After he and his friends leave the party at midnight, he slips away from them and begins to walk alone. He jumps over the fence of an orchard that happens to lead to Juliet’s backyard and her bedroom window.
10. When Romeo sees Juliet’s shining beauty, he compares her to what? Who should be envious?
He compares Juliet to the sun and says that the moon is envious of her glorious
beauty.
