9. Who were the first man and woman? How were they created?
The first man and woman were called Ask and Embla. They were created by Odin from a pair of logs he found while walking along the shore. Vili gave them intelligence and emotion and Ve gave them the senses of sight and hearing.
10. What is Bifrost? What is its purpose?
Bifrost is a rainbow bridge that connects Asgard to Midgard. The gods built it as a way to have access to the human world because they are the protectors of men.
11. Who guards Bifrost? Why?
This rainbow bridge was guarded by Heimdal. It was his job to keep a lighted fire at one end of the bridge to discourage the frost giants from crossing it and destroying the earth and Asgard.
12. Who was the only god that could not cross Bifrost? Why?
It was Thor, the Hammer-God of thunder and lightning, agriculture and craftsmanship and defense and strength. Thor was a size-shifter. He was terribly heavy and hot, and he could not cross the Rainbow Bridge for danger of breaking it or melting it, so he had to wade through the North Sea and come around through the long way.
