JAPANESE CUISINE
ISTANBUL,TURKEY
Wabi-sabi is a traditional Japanese aesthetic that values transience and
imperfection, derived from Buddhist teachings. It encompasses asymmetry,
roughness, simplicity, economy, austerity, modesty, intimacy, and appreciation of
natural objects and nature. The term 'wabi' originally referred to the loneliness of
living in nature, while'sabi' meant 'chill' or 'lean'.
Bonsai, a Japanese version of traditional Chinese art, features rough wood,
deadwood, and hollow trunks to highlight time and nature. Bonsai are often
displayed in autumn or winter to admire their bare branches.
A fine Japanese cuisine establishment, serving sushi and noodel, is located on
three floors with traditional rooms, a terrace, administrative offices, and a kitchen,
all designed in a traditional Japanese theme.
