Chief Petty Officers who participated in the rites of passage through the Chiefs Call to Initiation (CCTI) process, possess one of the most coveted tokens of appreciation, the Chief’s Creed, where the phrase, “More will be expected of you ... More will be demanded of you.” These are the watch words for Chiefs to understand that once you put on the anchors, you have reached a higher level of responsibility of looking after your shipmates. For the past 100 years, Chiefs have performed this particular role without fail, and with a motivational drive and enthusiasm that clearly defines the reputation of being a Chief Petty Officer. The next 100 years will be no different – only opportunities to improve on what is already exceptional that will keep our Coast Guard strong, proud and ‘SEMPER PARATUS!’
