GET AWAY FROM IT ALL

Louisiana has nearly two dozen state parks and countless
ways to experience every one of them. Enjoy superb
fishing, boating, paddling and water sports. Or get up
close with nature on biking and hiking trails, where
birdwatching is some of the finest in the country. You’ll
find excellent camping and picnic areas, including well-
equipped cabins and RV parks. Jimmie Davis State
Park is popular with families, fishermen, cyclists and
campers. Thanks to the park’s unique geography, located
on a narrow peninsula with numerous inlets, you’re
never more than a skipping-stone’s throw away from
the water. Check a few other state parks off your list by
visiting Lake Claiborne, Lake D’Arbonne, Sam Houston
Jones and Palmetto Island.
