      BIRDING

Hundreds of bird species make their home in the Bayou
State, but Louisiana also offers a resting spot for migrating
waterfowl and songbirds in the spring and fall. Our count-
less birding trails make our state a habitat for many rare and
endangered species, like the bald eagle and endangered
Red-cockaded Woodpecker, as well as a natural paradise
for bird watchers. Informative nature trails, lush wetlands
and scenic waterways across the state provide year-round
      bird watching options.
