Lifeguarding
Lifeguard Certification Course
This is a blended learning class that combines online learning, classroom activities, and water skills sessions to prepare you to recognize and respond to emergencies. Upon successful completion of the class, participants will receive American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid Certification and CPR/AED certification. The first day of class will consist of a 1 hour prerequisite swimming test that all participants must pass to receive their link to the online learning portion and continue with the class. The prerequisite swimming test consists of a 300 meter swim, 2-minute tread without using their arms and a timed deep water object retrieval event. Participants must attend all sessions of the course to be eligible for certification.

Blue Tides Masters Swim Team
The Joliet Blue Tides Masters Swim Team is a swim team for those 18 and older of all swim levels; fitness, competitive, and triathletes. It’s a great way to get in shape and achieve your swimming goals with the camaraderie of a team and coached practices for motivation. All private lesson sessions are 30-minutes long. Payment must be received by the Joliet Park District before or at the time of the first scheduled lesson. Submitting a private swim lesson request does not register you for the program. Registration for private swim lessons must be completed at the Inwood Athletic Club front desk. Group
There may be up to 2 participants per instructor. All participants are to participate as one group during the same lesson and be of similar swimming capabilities. Each group lesson is 30 minutes.
