Learn more about those hippity hoppity creatures called frogs. Learn the different frog calls, where they live, how they catch their food, and their habitats. We’ll roast marshmallows around a cozy campfire while we learn about frogs. Then we’ll take a hike, search for frogs, and learn some more about them. Bring your flashlights and boots. Wear long sleeves, pants and bug repellent!

Spring migration season is here. A member of the Will County Audubon Society will be leading guided bird hikes around Pilcher Park and identifying spring migrants. Bring your binoculars or use ours. Come prepared for hiking on trails with potentially rough terrain. Please register for this event ahead of time.

Spend a spooky, but family friendly night beneath the stars and towering trees of Pilcher Park. Cozy up to a campfire while roasting marshmallows and listening to eerie stories told by our naturalists. In case of inclement weather, alternate activities will take place inside.

Interested in exploring the hidden gems of Pilcher Park’s forest floor? This adult only wildflower hike allows you to get up close with the beautiful spring wildflowers that are native to our forest. Come
join us on a guided hike with a naturalist to learn facts and identification of our wildflowers. Like our ephemeral flowers, this program is short lived. Sign up today!

Pancakes with a Python
Have you ever had the pleasure of dining with a snake? Sabrina the python and her scaly friends will join you while you dine on freshly made pancakes, sausage, and milk. While you munch away, a natu- ralist will teach you about the slithering residents of Pilcher Park Nature Center. After breakfast, you will have the opportunity to touch our reptile friends and make a fun craft.
