Forehands and backhands are taught with the control of the ball being stressed. Students will be taught by Terry Wrona, tennis teaching professional. Adult Summer Softball
The Joliet Park District offers men’s, women’s, and mixed leagues ranging from recreational to competitive levels of play. USSSA rules apply with a few additional house rules added as well. All teams must now use the new Thumb- print USSSA stamped bats.
Teams that participated in the 2015 leagues will have prior- ity registration from February 1-February 28. New teams may register on a first-come, first-served basis, provided that spaces are still available beginning on February 29. Registration will end April 10.
A complete packet of information will be mailed out to returning teams on January 18. New teams can pick up the packet at 3000 W. Jefferson St. beginning January 19. For more information, call the Joliet Park District at 815-741- 7275 ext. 170 or send an e-mail to jbarry @jolietpark.org.

Advanced Beginning Tennis

Mighty Hitters T-Ball teaches kids the basics of base- ball in a fun and safe environment with no standing around. Throwing, catching, hitting, and fielding will be taught as well as running the bases and how to play the game. Games will be played if there are enough participants. Players should bring their own gloves.
Multi-Purpose Center (West Gym)

This class is the next level from the Beginning Tennis program. Students must have been enrolled in two complete sessions, learned the basic forehand and backhand techniques and be able to display them. Students must be able to use the basic skills of the serve. Session A will be held in the Multi-Purpose Center Gymnasium. Session B will be held mainly at the Inwood Park Tennis Courts but may be moved into the the Multi-Purpose Center Gymnasium in the event of rain. No class: 3/5
