Due to my lack of auto mechanic experience I managed to damage the new
Edelbrock Max-Fire distributor’s wiring on my TR8. Keep that thought.
Inside This Issue
In the picture below, you can see one side of a black plug with three wires TSWFL Event Page 2
connected coming from the Distributor. There is also small wiring harness Calendar, Club
coiled with the other side of the plug that connects to the Ignition coil. The Officers, Treasure’s
two pieces of the plug lock together connecting the distributor to the ignition Report

Back to that thought. Once the Distributor and Ignition coil are in place Suppliers 22
correctly in the car, the engine will run. My lack of auto experience now
comes into play. With the engine starting, I decided to take the car around the TSWFL Supporters Page 23
block for a test run. Everything seemed to be working fine when there was
thud under the hood and the car shut off. I had not thought of where the plug
was hanging between the Distributor and the coil before the test run, so it got
caught by the fan and was demolished tearing the wires from the Distributor
and the Ignition coil.
The new distributor is fine, but the wires and connector are no longer. To add
to the problem, the wires and the two-part plug are not parts that are sold
separately, so Edelbrock’s Tech Support is looking to see what they can do
for me.
The moral of the story is to remember to tie wrap wires before any test drives.
