Amaya, my dearest friend, my sister-cousin. Our bond is unbreakable and I will forever cherish us. You understood me and likewise I understood you. We definitely built each other up. We climbed mountains that people told us we couldn't reach. My children and I will hold tight to our memories. We love you dearly. Your wonderful spirit would always brighten my day. I knew that whenever I would see you a smile would always be on my face because you made me happy to call you family. You are gone but you're still here in my heart. You will always be my best friend.
Love you,
Shykeria Searles (Kerie)

Dear T-Maya, it's little Cuz. I’ve heard you fly high now. I want you to know I love you from the depths of my heart. Your presence with me meant so much. You always made me laugh and feel good, when you came to my house. You helped me with my hair, gave me advice... and the best advice. You loved and cared for me. Now I pray and have hope for the people and relatives of T-Maya that God will get us through these tough times. Now I wish you Cuz a nice afterlife and that you rest in Peace.

Dearest Amaya
Precious and beloved. Sensitive, tender, and complex. Tough as nails, yet soft and sweet as honey. Endlessly insightful and creative, and with uncanny wisdom on the nascent cusp of its wondrous realization. You burst with more beauty than a single soul can contain. I see you. When we next meet, we shall laugh again 'til our sides hurt, cry tears of joy, squeeze each other’s hands 'til they go numb, and share hugs beyond blessed measure. 'Til then, I will miss you immeasurably.
My love travels with you. - Kathy Jo Connors
Inspiring Entrepreneur,
I first met Amaya when she took my ROC City Biz FastTrac Program. She had a wonderful idea for a business and wanted to learn how to make it a reality. She was a great student, eager to learn, and absorbing all we had to give. She was very creative and dedicated to helping others, something that her business idea was being created to do. It was a joy to get to know her and to see her blossom as the program continued. Amaya was a beautiful and strong young woman who was constantly working to be her best self. She was a bright light with so much promise.
I will miss Amaya. - Dr. DT Ogilvie
