BODY WORN CAMERAS:-
18 Nos. of body worn cameras total worth Rs.2,87,802/-
have been procured for controlling/monitoring/detection of
crime in trains and railway premises. The footage of the
Body worn cameras is being analyzed on weekly basis at
Post & Divisional level and proper directions are being
issued to the concerned Post in-charges to ensure the
core areas/incidents are covered by the cameras and the
initiative has been yielding good results as it is working as
a deterrent to the criminals/defaulters in trains and railway
premises.
The crime in trains escorted by the RPF staff has come down drastically due to
the presence of these cameras. Train escorting staff alertness has been improved
drastically. Body worn cameras are instrumental in bringing down the corruption
complaints from passengers. Playing vital role in instilling the confidence of
security among passengers and the overall image of RPF and in particular
Railways.
SMART PHONES:-
26 smart phones total worth Rs.1,68,064/- were procured for
utilization of RPF train escort parties and platform duty staff over
Hyderabad Division. With this, Hyderabad Division has become
the first Division in SCR and also in Indian Railways ever to
achieve the same. These smart phones are considered as an
effective smart tool for evidence to detect the cases reported in
railways.
In addition to the above smart phone procurement has been
improved, the communication between train escorting staff,
security control and field units in-charges, which is enabling the field unit in-
charges reach the incident spots immediately without any delay.
INNOVATIONS ADOPTED IN PASSENGER CRIME DETECTION FRONT:-
Passenger reservation charts of the trains in which the crimes were committed
are very carefully analyzed to find out the names of probable offenders.
Based on the analysis of charts about the repeated travel/reservations of
suspicious persons in the guise of passengers, their future travel is being
anticipated and necessary action is being taken with the technical support of
CRIS to apprehend the culprits by intercepting their journey if required.
CCTV footages are reviewed more carefully to find out the clues.
The information regarding notorious criminals who have involved in major
offences in other divisions are being collected and reviewed their MO.
Whenever any mobile theft cases reported, Inspector in-charge will interact with
the victim passenger, obtain his g-mail ID and IMEI no of the stolen mobile to
identify the last location through 1)Google Dashboard, 2)Find my device to
ascertain the facts related to the offence and modus operandi.
