12. Schedule of Surprise Night Inspections:
The Schedule of Monthly Surprise Night Inspections on this division is being circulated every
month to all Branch officers. During the year 2021-22, up to september-21, total of 1255
surprise Night Inspections were conducted by Officers and Inspectors and ensure the execution
of inspections by concerned officials.
13. Monitoring of Driving Crew:
Loco Pilots/Asst. Loco Pilots and Guards were subjected to Breathalyzer tests not only at the
time of signing on, but also at the time of signing off with Bio-metric CMS system and also
during night foot plate inspections.
14. Ambush Checks
During the year 2021-22, up to September-2021, total 129 Ambush checks have been
conducted along with RTA officials at various manned Level crossings. About 891 road users
were counselled during the checks.
15. Disaster Management:
Disaster Management boards in bi-lingual were updated and numbers are regularly checked by
SMs/SS/TIs and Officers during their inspections.
16. Gradation:
Gradation of all Safety Category Staff was evaluated as per the stipulated guidelines of Railway
Board. Continuous monitoring is being done by Officers/Supervisors to upgrade the staff
categorized as B, C & D.
17. Action plan to curb accidents
The following steps are taken in order to reduce accidents in the division.
1. Intensive counseling of staff
2. Conducting Safety Seminars.
3. Launching Safety Drives.
4. Issuing Safety Circulars and General Circulars.
5. Issuing Safety Literature (Safety Posters, Fly Leaf, Bulletins etc.)
6. Framing Rule of the month for the benefit of the staff.
7. Conducting Night Surprise Inspections.
8. Public awareness campaign.
9. Monitoring of Refresher Course & Periodical Medical Examination.
10. Conducting LIs & TIs meeting with DRMs to know about the problems facing by LPs
11. Conducting safety audit inspections by divisional JA grade officers at major stations and
activity centers.
12. Conducting Mock drills
13. Conducting ambush checks throughout the division.
14. Issuing of Pamphlet on Prevention of Fire Accidents.
15. Issuing of Special safety circulars.
16. Conducting Crash courses to gateman.
