Dereje Negussie
Dereje Negussie is graduate of the Southfield Public School system, and a 1999 recipient of the
Southfield Kappa Foundation Merit Scholarship. He considers himself to be a man of principal with
faith, love, family, and Education serving as the pillars of his success.
Professionally, Mr. Negussie has enjoyed a 10+ year career spending the majority in the technology
field working for industry titans like Verizon and Apple. In his current role, Dereje serves as the Human
Resources Business Partner in the General Mills Cincinnati Cereal Plant.
Mr. Negussie holds two degrees; a Bachelor of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan
University in Ypsilanti, Michigan and a Master of Business Administration from the University of
Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While at Eastern Dereje was initiated into Kappa Alpha Psi at
the Delta Nu Chapter where he served the fraternity as Province Political Action Committee co-chair,
chapter Keeper of Records, and chapter Polemarch. Upon successful completion of the
Undergraduate Leadership Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, Dereje was named Kappa Fellow as part of the
Alpha Class.
Dereje currently resides in Cincinnati, Ohio with his wife Kellee and two daughters Amaya and Alyssa.
