                                                         Jahquan Hawkins

Jahquan Hawkins is a native Detroiter who holds a Bachelors degree in

Sociology from Wayne State University and a Masters degree in
College Student Affairs from Eastern Illinois University. Jahquan has
been working professionally in higher education for over 10 years and
currently serves as the Dean of Campus Affairs for Oakland
               Community College's Southfield Campus.

Jahquan's research interest is in minority male educational
achievement and he has been recognized both locally and nationally
for his work with the Man Up program; an initiative which focuses on
early exposure to higher education for minority males in metro Detroit
               area high schools.

In 2012, Jahquan co-founded Exposure U; a company which provides
college success coaching to prospective college students. In his spare
time he also volunteers with the Detroit Kappa League and Big
Brothers Big Sisters as a mentor.
