The first Spirit of MAWLE Award Ceremony
was held in 2011 in memory of Trooper Ellen E.
Engelhardt, who succumbed in 2003 to injuries
sustained when her cruiser was hit by a drunk
driver. Ellen served the State Police and the citizens
of Massachusetts for 23 years with honor and
humility and enhanced the overall image of women
in law enforcement by the way she lived her life.

The department congratulates Sergeant
Losardo for her much-deserved recognition,
and thanks her for her leadership skills and
dedication to the mission of the State Police.
